We hired Darla based on her availability, an email conversation and a look at her online portfolio. Hiring a wedding photographer is SCARY; there is so much on the line for that one day...you want every moment captured in the best light, from the best angle. We signed a contract for 6 hours and met with Darla so that we could talk through order of events, photo locations at the venue, and the general mood and colours we were hoping for.
Talk about exceeding expectations! On the day of the wedding Darla showed up early (like 3 hours early) and she stayed late as well. She literally captured every detail; from the venue, to the decor, candids of our guests and of course family shots and phenomenal photos of the bride, groom and wedding party. Then she quickly edited some of the highlights and texted us a link to a shareable online album the NEXT DAY, so that we could upload photos to social media.
We now have 100's of photos (truly amazing photos) on a zip drive as well as a shareable album online that family and friends can download or order photos from directly.
Darla not only did her job but she shared her passion. Her creativity and skill in both capturing and editing photos is unmatched. Darla was professional, quick to respond to questions, her time management on the wedding day was perfect, and she was skilled at managing large group photos. There are no words to adequately describe how incredible our experience with Darla was. We were planning a trip to Banff from Ontario and she was super accommodating every time we had to make changes due to travel restrictions. She went out of her way to make sure she was available for our date and time. She was flexible with our needs and provided helpful advice throughout the planning process. She arrived fully prepared with two cameras and made us feel extremely comfortable during the photoshoot process. She edited and returned the pictures in a timely manner.
